ISTE standards were set up to ensure that our students are ready to face the world and the new technology that is involved. ISTE standards consist of standards for various different groups of people. In today’s technological world it is very important to educate ourselves to be able to use technology to our advantage. Most importantly it is crucial for students and educators to use these standards to improve their learning and teaching. The student’s standards begin with Empowered Learner which demonstrates the student’s active participation in their education. The next is being a digital citizen which means using technology legally and correctly. Being a knowledge constructor according to the ISTE standards means that students can use technology constructively as a part of their learning.
